INDIANAPOLIS - Former IUPUI basketball player Odell Bradley was selected in the third round of the Continental Basketball Association (CBA) draft yesterday. The 6-foot-4 forward was chosen by the Dakota Wizards as the 24th overall choice.

The Wizards have had six players jump from their squad to the NBA since the beginning of the 2003-04 season.

The 2004 Mid-Continent Conference Player of the Year had a dominating senior season in which he ranked third in the conference in scoring (23.1) and rebounding (8.5). He was also named the Mid-Con Tournament MVP after averaging 22 points and nine rebounds over the three games.

He ranked second on the team with 2.3 assists per game, while playing a team-high 37.6 minutes per night.

Last season, he scored in double-digits in 28 of 29 games, including a pair of 41-point performances against Oral Roberts. His 41 points marked the highest scoring efforts in IUPUI's Division I history and tied for the tenth-best games in school history. He also snared a career-best 18 rebounds in IUPUI's first-ever win over Ball State on Dec. 20. He set the IUPUI single game records for free throws made (22) and attempted (26) in IUPUI's Dec. 1 overtime win over Lipscomb.

On Senior Night, Bradley became the 16th player in school history to join the 1,000-Point Club and eventually climbed to 14th in the career books. He is just the fourth student-athlete in the program's history to reach the plateau in two seasons (Carlos Knox, Aldray Gibson, Chad Pate) and the third to score 1,000 at the Division I level (Don Carlisle, Charles Price).

He was the first player in program history to win the Conference Player of the Year award and was just the third player (Josh Murray, Don Carlisle) to be named First Team All-Conference.

Bradley was also a fourth-round selection in the USBL Draft last spring. He is the second player under head coach Ron Hunter to be drafted professionally. Following his senior season, Carlisle was chosen by the North Charleston Lowgators of the National Basketball Developmental League (NBDL).
