ROCHESTER, Mich. - Riding a four-game winning streak, the IUPUI men's soccer team will head north to the Oakland University campus to take part in this weekend's Summit League Tournament with the winner earning an automatic bid in the forthcoming NCAA College Cup. The third-seeded Jaguars will take on No. 2 Western Illinois (6-9-2) in Friday's second semifinal, slated to kickoff at 2:00 p.m.. Top seeded Oakland (9-4-3) will host No. 4 UMKC (6-9-2) at 11:00 a.m. with the winners meeting at noon on Sunday.

Head Coach Steve Franklin's team finished the regular season hot, outscoring its final four opponents by a 13-3 margin. After winning just once in the season's first seven weeks, the Jags caught fire on its home field down the stretch. Sophomore forward Perez Agaba was named The Summit League's Offensive Player of the Week this past week after netting the Jags first goal in Saturday's 3-2 overtime win at Centenary.

For the year, Agaba and junior Nate Ohmer lead the team with four goals each and both Agaba and rookie Kyle Hyland have delivered three assists each.

In goal, sophomore Tyler Keever turned in a 1.26 goals against average and 84 saves during the regular season. His 5.60 saves per game rank second in The Summit as does his GAA.

IUPUI dropped the regular season meeting with Western Illinois, 1-0 in Macomb, Ill. on Oct. 10. Defender Jonathan Sandoval scored the game-winner in the 68th minute in a match in which the Fighting Leathernecks outshot IUPUI 21-6 and 10-3 on frame.

This marks the fourth straight season the Jags have advanced to the four-team league tournament and Franklin's squad last advanced to the championship game in 2007. IUPUI's lone NCAA Tournament berth came in 2000 when the Jaguars knocked off Oakland 2-1 in a triple overtime thriller.
