BLOOMINGTON, Ill. -- The IUPUI women's tennis team, playing shorthanded, fell at Illinois State, 7-0, Friday night at the Evergreen Raquet Club. 

IUPUI (0-2) competed with just four players, giving Illinois State (1-0) points at No. 5 and No. 6 singles to begin the match.  The Redbirds also started doubles needing a split of the two matches due to their win by default at No. 3.

For the Jaguars, Vanessa Carna rallied after losing her first set at love, figuring out her opponent just a little too late in a 6-0, 6-4 defeat.

The women will be back in action on Friday, Jan. 30, when they venture north to Milwaukee, Wis., to take on Marquette.  The matches will start at 5:00 p.m. CT.
