DAYTON, Ohio -- Wrapping up their two-day tour of the state of Ohio, the IUPUI women's tennis team fell 7-0 to the University of Dayton Sunday evening.
IUPUI (0-2), competing with just five available players, dropped the doubles point after falling 6-8 at No. 1 doubles and 4-8 at No. 2.
Andrea Burkhardt and Vanessa Carna nearly took singles points for the Jaguars, falling in third set tie-breaks. Burkhardt won her opening set, 6-4, before falling 6-7 in a tie-break and 11-9 in a third set super-break.
Carna took her first set 7-5 before dropping the second 6-4 and falling 10-7 in the super tie-break.
The women will be back in action on Friday, Feb. 8, when they travel to Morehead, Ky., to take on the Morehead State Eagles. The match will begin at 2 p.m.
