ALBANY, NY - Former IUPUI basketball standout Odell Bradley has been picked as one of 10 players to represent the National Conference at the 2007 Continental Basketball Association All-Star Classic. The game will be held on February 6 in Butte, Montana as Yakima Sun Kings head coach Paul Woolpert will lead the squad.
Bradley, a 6-foot-4 forward, currently leads the Butte Daredevils in scoring at 17.9 points per game, while adding 3.7 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game. He currently ranks 15th in the league in scoring and has helped the Daredevils to a 7-11 overall record.
Bradley was the leading scorer on IUPUI’s 2003 Mid-Continent Conference Championship team and was named the Mid-Con Player of the Year in 2004. He averaged 23.1 points and 8.5 rebounds per game as a senior in 2003-04.
He will be joined by Butte teammate Nick Vanderlaan on the National squad.
The Indiana Alley Cats, coached by former IUPUI star Carlos Knox, are sending four players to the game to represent the American Conference including J.J. Sullinger (Ohio State) and Erick Barkley (St. John’s). Albany’s T.J. Thompson currently leads the league in scoring at 24.8 points per game, while former West Virginia standout Kevin Pittsnogle is netting 23.5 a night.
Jamario Moon and Shaun Fountain received the most All-Star selection votes as cast by the league’s coaches, front office staff and media representatives. The Feb. 6 event will also have a Long Distance Shootout and Dunk Competition, with competitors to be named at a later date.
