ELMHURST, Ill. - IUPUI basketball players Brandon Cole and George Hill were voted preseason all-conference by the league's coaches/media members. Cole, a 6-foot-6 swingman, was named First Team, while Hill was picked to the Second Team.

Cole averaged a team-high 14.3 points and 7.0 rebounds per game as a junior, helping IUPUI to a 16-13 record. He notched six double-doubles during the season including five in succession early in the year. He ranked tenth in the league in both scoring and rebounding, while finishing second on the team with 42 steals.

The Ben Davis-product also had an efficient season shooting the basketball, hitting at nearly an 86 percent clip from the foul line and 39.3 percent from three-point range.

This season, Cole should become the sixth player in school history to accumulate over 1,000 points and 500 rebounds for his career.

Hill, a 6-foot-2 guard, is coming off a stellar freshman campaign that saw him average 10.7 points, 4.5 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.4 steals per game. He knocked down 52 percent of his field goal attempts and better than 41 percent from three-point range. He was picked to the Mid-Con All-Newcomer Team and was one of just two sophomores chosen Preseason All-Conference.

"Brandon and George are primed for big years," IUPUI head coach Ron Hunter said. "Brandon has stepped up and shown us he's a big-time leader. He is the face of our program this season.

"George just keeps working and getting better everyday. He's an extremely talented basketball player who just loves to play the game."
