INDIANAPOLIS - Top seeded Oakland University won the Summit League's automatic bid to the 2007 NCAA College Cup on Sunday by knocking off host IUPUI 2-0 at chilly Kuntz Stadium. OU's Michael Reyes scored both goals en route to Tournament MVP honors, while goalkeeper Steve Clark needed just two saves in the shutout.

Sophomore Justin Darvish led the IUPUI attack with three shots off the bench.

Reyes made it 1-0 right before halftime as he weaved between a pair of IUPUI defenders before rolling a shot beyond David Barszczowski, inside the far post. Reyes had only been on the field for about three minutes before scoring the decisive goal.

Reyes and Martin Sandell teamed to make it 2-0 in the 80th minute, ending all doubt. Sandell and Reyes played keep away with an IUPUI defender before the latter bent a shot from 11 yards out to the right post for his sixth score of the year.

The Jaguars (8-11-1) only two shots on goal came in the opening 16 minutes. Senior Adrian Conrad put a header on net amidst a scrum inside the six-yard box less than five minutes into the contest. Later, senior Vangel Nacovski put a free kick on frame, that Clark made an easy save on.

Conrad, Nacovski and junior defender Ryan Brumbaugh were named to the 11-player All-Tournament Team.

Oakland (11-6-3) outshot IUPUI 18-15 on the day.

"They're a quality opponent and they'll represent the league well in the postseason," IUPUI head coach Steve Franklin said. "They were the better team and you have to give them credit. To play championship soccer, you have to make less mistakes than the opponent. Today, we made a couple of mistakes and they cost us."

Franklin thanks his seniors, four of which started on Sunday, in an extended postgame talk in the locker room.

"They came to us when we were in a valley, so to speak, with our program," Franklin said. "They've helped bring us back to where we're competing to be among the elite teams in the league."
