DAYTON, Ohio - The IUPUI women's soccer team couldn't snap Wright State's undefeated string on Friday night, falling to the Raiders, 1-0. Freshman goalkeeper Jamie Farrell ran her scoreless streak to nearly 263 consecutive minutes without allowing a goal.

Wright State (7-0-2) dominated the run of play offensively, outshooting the Jags 21-7 overall and taking 12 corner kicks to IUPUI's zero. Despite the statistical disadvantage, the Jags had chances to steal a win on the road. The Jags had four restarts inside of 25 yards, but were unable to put any on net.

Meanwhile, Wright State took advantage of a corner kick opportunity in the game's 53rd minute for the lone score. Megan Mattioda whipped a ball in that Amy Miller headed past IUPUI senior goalkeeper Jessie Mann for her sixth goal of the season and the eventual game-winner.

"We came into it with a game plan," IUPUI head coach Chris Johnson said. "We needed to keep our wits and stay composed and I thought we did a good job of that.

"The back line held together and played well."

Farrell made a brilliant save on a Jodie Shoaf attempt in the first half to keep the scoreless tie intact at halftime. Offensively, IUPUI (4-3-1) was unable to muster many opportunities during the run of play against goalkeeper Steph Comisar.

She made four stops in the shutout, while Mann recorded three of IUPUI's five saves in the second half.

"We're not totally disappointed, but we should have put one (goal) away," Johnson said. "They're a good team, but we had our opportunities."

Miller had a game-high four shots for WSU, while freshman midfielder Katrina McCrory had two tries for IUPUI in her fifth career start.

IUPUI returns home on Sunday when they host Indiana State at Kuntz Stadium at 2:00 p.m.. The Sycamores knocked off Cleveland State 2-1 earlier this evening to improve to 4-4 on the year.
