IUPUI senior men's golf Michael Davan has been named the Sahm's Student-Athlete of the Month for the month of October 2011. The Hoopeston, Ill.-native led the men's golf team to a pair of tournament titles during the month while posting a team-best 72.00 stroke average in eight rounds.

Davan opened the month with a 54-hole 213 (75-71-67) at the Butler Fall Invitational, tying for sixth overall. The Jaguars won the tournament at Highland Country Club at 849 while Davan's final round 67 was a career-low and one shot off the IUPUI single-round record.

From there, Davan tied for 16th overall at the John Dallio Memorial and helped the Jaguars to a third-place finish among the 15-team field. He closed the month by winning the UD Fall Invitational for the second straight year, closing the tournament at 3-under 139 (71-68).

For the year, Davan leads The Summit League with a 71.12 stroke average and has a pair of tournament wins this season. He's finished in the top 10 in five of his six entries and in the top five in half of the team's events.
