Junior women's golfer Kristi O'Brien has been chosen the Sahm's IUPUI Athlete of the Month for March 2011. O'Brien had a team-best 79.90 stroke average for the month in IUPUI's five tournaments.
She helped the Jaguars to a 48-14 record, including the title at the Bulldog Florida Invitational.
She notched two top five and three top 10 finishes in five entries, including earning her fifth career title at the Bulldog Florida Invitational. She won that event with a two-day 154 (78-76), bettering the field by seven shots.
Earlier in the month, she placed fourth at the Sunshine Spring Classic firing a 158 (80-78). Upon returning home, she placed sixth at the Butler Spring Invitational in Avon, Ind. with a two-day 161 (84-77).
