Junior men's basketball player Alex Young has been picked as IUPUI's Sahm's Male Student-Athlete of the Month for the month of November. The 6-foot-6 swingman averaged a team-high 18.1 points per game in the season's first month, helping the Jaguars to a 3-4 mark.

The Indianapolis Northwest-grad was the lone Jaguar to score in double-digits in all seven games during the month, including hitting for a season-high 24 in the Nov. 29 win over IU-East. He recorded his first double-double of the season with 17 points and 11 rebounds in just 28 minutes work in the Nov. 16 win over IU-Northwest. He also handed out a career-high six assists in that win.

Young also led the Jaguars with 6.9 rebounds per game and seven total blocked shots for the month. His nine steals were second and his 14 assists were third on the squad.

Young opened the month by scoring his 1,000th career point in the season-opening loss at No. 12 Gonzaga. He became just the 21st player in school history to reach that mark in the process.
