Junior cross country runner Ana Paez has been selected the Sahm's IUPUI Female Student-Athlete of the Month for the month of October 2010. The Elkhart Memorial-graduate had an outstanding month in IUPUI's two meets, leading the Jaguars to the finish line on both occasions.

At the Falcon Invite on Oct. 16, Paez placed ninth overall in the 6K race in a time of 22:16.1, helping IUPUI to an eighth-place finish at the meet. Her 22:16.1 6K was a PR time and ranked third on IUPUI's all-time list at that distance.

Two weeks later, she placed 14th overall at The Summit League Championships, notching a PR time of 22:00.9 in that race. Her time was just two seconds off the school record at that distance and her 14th place finish earned her a Second Team All-Summit League finish. It was her second All-League performance of her three-year IUPUI career.
