IUPUI women's soccer goalkeeper Jamie Farrell has been voted the program's Female Student-Athlete of the Month for the month of October. The senior helped the Jaguars to a 6-2 record during the month, including notching three straight shutouts at one point.
Farrell opened September on a tear, blanking Western Illinois, UMKC and Southern Utah in succession while the Jags extended their winning streak to a school record 12 straight. She was later named The Summit League Defensive Player of the Week on Oct. 12. After a couple of setbacks, the Jaguars rebounded with a pair of wins late in the month to establish a new school record for wins in a season.
Farrell capped the month with a season-high nine saves in a 3-1 win over Oakland to clinch the Jaguars' second straight Summit League Tournament berth.
Individually, Farrell set a new record for wins in a season and had a 1.00 goals against average in her eight starts. She also posted an .814 save percentage and averaged 4.4 saves per game.
For the year, Farrell ranks among The Summit League leaders in nearly every statistical category, including shutouts, goals against average, wins and save percentage.
