Murphy pulled off a rare triple at the Horizon League Indoor Championships over the weekend, winning both the mile and 5,000m events and finishing fourth in the 3,000m event to be voted the Championships Outstanding Performer for running events. Murphy opened with an eye popping 5K win on Saturday (Feb. 29), running a time of 16:55.40 to win by less than one-tenth of a second. On Sunday (Mar. 1), Murphy rolled to a win in the mile with a time of 5:06.07 to win by three-hundredths of a second. She capped her day by placing fourth in the 3K with a time of 9:59.96. By scoring 25 points, Murphy helped the Jaguars place fourth overall of nine teams.
