Diederich got off to a hot start in her college career in three appearances, picking up a win and posting a 1.29 ERA in 14 innings pitched. Diederich allowed just two earned runs on 12 hits and struck out four batters, while only allowing batters to hit .231. Her first-career win came in a complete game effort against Evansville, scattering eight hits and allowing two runs while striking out three. Diederich also threw 5.1 innings of shutout ball in relief in the season opener against Omaha.
