Murphy set a new IUPUI 5K record, clocking a time of 17:33.52 at the Joe Piane-Notre Dame Invitational on Friday (Oct. 4), placing 20th of 193 runners in the Gold Division of the meet. Her time was four seconds quicker than the previous school record and 16 seconds faster than her previous best as she helped the Jaguars to a 12th place finish in the race, including finishing ahead of HL foes Youngstown State, UIC and Green Bay.
