Junior women's cross country runner Leah Brooks has been named IUPUI's Female Athlete of the Month for the month of August. Brooks helped IUPUI win the Butler Opener on Aug. 30, capturing the program's third-ever meet title. 

Individually, Brooks finished third of 44 runners, closing the 5K race in a time of 19:05.3.

With the Dunlap, Ill.-native at the top of the lineup, the Jaguars ousted host Butler by nine points at Northview Church in Carmel, Ind..
