Millette Green is the newest addition to the IUPUI women’s basketball coaching staff, joining the Jaguars after a year at Robert Morris. She will serve as the team’s film exchange coordinator and work with guard play in addition to scouting, recruiting, community service programs as well as marketing and promotions. Green spent the 2007-08 season with Robert Morris (Pa.) University, helping the Colonials reach the NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament.
The Chesapeake, Va.-native has had a variety of experiences that give her a well-rounded background as she comes into her first season at IUPUI. Prior to joining Robert Morris, Green served in the community relations department with the Charlotte Bobcats of the National Basketball Association (NBA). There, she helped coordinate and implement several community initiatives including Read to Achieve programs, Excellence in Education and other community and arena-based programs. Green has also spent time working in the National Football League (NFL), serving as a game day operations assistant with the Miami Dolphins. She prepared Dolphins Stadium for game day as well as halftime shows and post-game breakdown.
Her basketball coaching experience came at Miami Country Day School in Miami Shores, Fla., and Western Branch High School in Chesapeake, Va. Green was the head coach at Miami Country Day from 2005-2007, planning and running daily team and individual practices as well as developing game strategies and overseeing academic achievement. She was an assistant coach at Western Branch during the 2003-04 season, advising in all aspects of coaching. She implemented individual instruction plans while also developing offensive and defensive game strategies. Green was also an assistant coach for the Boo Williams AAU Program in 2003-04.
Green originally enrolled at East Carolina University where she spent two 1998-2000 seasons as a member of the Pirates women’s basketball team. She transferred to the University of Maryland-Baltimore County (UMBC), earning two letters as a member of the Retrievers women’s hoops squad. Green was a two-year starter at UMBC, averaging 7.3 points and 5.0 rebounds per game over 56 games and earning the team’s unsung hero award as a senior. She was second on the team in rebounding both years while her 29 blocks in 2002-03 led the squad. The mark is also the fifth-most by a senior at UMBC.
She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology from UMBC in 2003. Green continued her education at Barry University, where she earned a master of business administration and a master of science in sports management in May 2007.

Being a former post player, I think she will help our interior players continue to develop and help us in Summit League play.”
