Meghan Lamberth joined the IUPUI softball coaching staff as an assistant coach in July 2013. Lamberth will work directly with the pitching staff in addition to assisting with recruiting.
“We are so excited to have Meghan Lamberth join our program. Meghan's knowledge of the game, energy, and her competitiveness will not only make a great impact on our pitching staff, but on our entire program,” Rivera said. “She shares the same goals and vision as our program, and she will make a very seamless transition into our softball family.”
“I could not be more excited to join this coaching staff. I admire Coach Rivera’s and Coach Monka’s shared passion for the game, and how committed they are to continue to develop the program here at IUPUI,” Lamberth said.
Lamberth recently completed a four-year playing career at Northwestern, where she was a two-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree. As a senior this past year, Lamberth appeared in 39 games, splitting time between the circle and as the designated player. Lamberth put together a 21-inning scoreless streak in the circle last year, which included three complete-game shutouts spanning from a game against No. 16 Stanford on March 2 to a contest at No. 25 Nebraska on March 22.
For her career, Lamberth posted a record of 35-21, and owned an ERA of 3.80. She additionally earned three saves over the course of her career. In the batter’s box, Lamberth tallied five home runs and 23 RBI in just over 100 plate appearances.
