Emily Gwaltney joined the IUPUI Softball staff in January 2022, bringing impressive credentials to the Jaguars' program. A native of Bargersville, Gwaltney starred at nearby Marian University where she was a two-time Crossroads League Player of the Year (2011, 2013). She was the league's Newcomer of the Year as a true freshman in 2010.Â
A four-time all-league performer, Gwaltney finished her career as Marian's all-time leader in homeruns (51) and runs batted in (193) and set the Knights' single-season record with 16 homers in 2011. In the circle, she amassed a career 68-19 record in four years with the Knights.Â
She earned her B.S. in Kinesiology and Exercise Science and has served as both a hitting and pitching instructor at nearby Ultimate Hitting in Whiteland, Ind.
