INDIANAPOLIS – After earning a pair of wins at the Hampton Inn Invitational, the IU Indy volleyball team faces a busy stretch this week, with four matches in four days beginning Wednesday night at Purdue.
 
The Jaguars will travel to West Lafayette for a 6:30 p.m. matchup with the Boilermakers on Wednesday, Sept. 9, before heading south to San Antonio, Texas, for the Roadrunner Classic at UTSA. IU Indy will play East Texas A&M and Gonzaga on Friday before closing the weekend against host UTSA on Saturday.
 
The Jags enter the week at 3-3 after winning two of three matches at The Jungle last weekend. IU Indy opened the Hampton Inn Invitational with a 3-0 sweep of Ohio, fell to Marshall in four sets and then rallied for a thrilling five-set victory over Akron.
 
Sophomore Jillian Tippmann enters the week with plenty of momentum after being named the Under Armour Horizon League Player of the Week on Tuesday. Tippmann led the Jaguars to their 2-1 weekend while averaging 4.42 kills per set and hitting .366. She ranked second among Horizon League players in both kills and hitting percentage for the week.
 
Tippmann has been IU Indy's primary offensive weapon throughout the opening weeks of the season. She has totaled 90 kills through six matches, including a career-high-tying 21 kills against Marshall and 19 kills in Saturday's win over Akron. Against Akron, she hit .341 while adding five digs and two blocks.
 
Freshman Bailey Sinish has also made an immediate impact. The Fort Wayne native has recorded 79 kills through the first six matches, including 19 kills against Akron, while hitting .424 against Marshall. Sinish and Tippmann give the Jaguars a strong one-two punch on the outside as IU Indy enters another demanding weekend.
 
Behind them, senior setter Grace Purichia continues to direct the offense. The reigning Horizon League Setter of the Year has accumulated 228 assists through six matches, including 50 in the five-set win over Akron. Purichia also added 11 digs and two blocks in the victory.
 
Sophomore libero Laura Roeder has anchored the defensive effort, recording 18 digs against Akron, while junior middle blocker Lila Britt leads the Jaguars with 11 total blocks on the season.
 
TEST AT PURDUE
 
The Jaguars' week begins with one of their toughest opponents of the season as they travel to face Purdue.
 
The Boilermakers enter Wednesday's matchup at 2-2 after opening the season with wins against Texas A&M and Georgia, before falling No. 18 TCU in straight sets Sunday.
 
Purdue features a veteran-heavy roster that includes senior setter Taylor Anderson, who led the nation in assists last season, along with several key returners and highly touted newcomers. The Boilermakers also entered 2026 coming off a 24-7 campaign that included a third-place Big Ten finish and an NCAA Regional Final appearance.
 
Wednesday's match is scheduled for 6:30 PM ET at Holloway Gymnasium.
 
ROADRUNNER CLASSIC AWAITS
 
Following the Purdue match, the Jaguars will make the trip to San Antonio for three matches in the Roadrunner Classic.
 
IU Indy opens Friday at 11:30 AM ET against East Texas A&M, marking the first meeting between the two programs. The Lions enter the weekend after defeating St. John's in four sets to improve to 5-1, their best start to a season since 2013.
 
The Jags will then return to the court Friday evening at 5:00 PM ET against Gonzaga before facing host UTSA at 2:00 PM ET Saturday to close the tournament.
 
UTSA enters the week at 3-2 after opening its home schedule with a pair of victories. The Roadrunners swept Tarleton State on Sept. 4, hitting .344 while holding the Texans to a .009 hitting percentage. Sydney Bryant led UTSA with 11 kills in the win, while Ledisi Kpea recorded six blocks.
 
IU Indy's match against Purdue will be broadcast on B1G+ while their match against UTSA Is slated for ESPN+.
