INDIANAPOLIS – The IU Indy volleyball team opens Horizon League play this weekend when the Jaguars welcome Robert Morris to the Jungle for back-to-back matches. The Jags and Colonials will begin the two-match series on Friday, Sept. 25 at 6:00 PM before returning to the court Saturday at 3:00 PM. Both matches will be streamed on ESPN+.

IU Indy enters conference play with a 5-8 overall record and a 3-1 mark at home. The Jaguars are coming off a pair of matches in Muncie, falling to Northwestern and Ball State after earning a 3-0 sweep over Butler in their previous home match. Robert Morris enters the weekend at 2-9 overall.

The Jaguars were picked third in the 2026 Horizon League preseason poll after finishing fourth in the league a season ago. Wright State earned the top spot in the preseason poll, followed by Northern Kentucky, while Robert Morris was picked 10th.

Sophomore Jillian Tippmann has paced the IU Indy attack through non-conference play with a team-high 182 kills, averaging 3.71 kills per set on a .253 hitting percentage. The reigning All-League Second Team and All-Freshman Team selection was also named Horizon League Player of the Week on Sept. 8.

Freshman Bailey Sinish has also made an immediate impact for the Jaguars. The Indiana Miss Volleyball honoree ranks second on the team with 146 kills while adding 76 digs and 18 total blocks. Sinish joined IU Indy after leading Carroll High School to back-to-back state championships during her junior and senior seasons.

Senior setter Grace Purichia continues to direct the Jaguar offense after earning Horizon League Setter of the Year honors in 2025. Purichia has totaled 466 assists and 93 digs this season and enters the weekend third in program history with 3,877 career assists. She is also one of three active NCAA Division I players with more than 3,000 career assists and 1,000 career digs.

Defensively, sophomore libero Laura Roeder leads IU Indy with 144 digs. Roeder earned Horizon League All-Freshman Team honors last season after starting every match at libero for the Jaguars.

This weekend will mark the 16th and 17th meetings between IU Indy and Robert Morris. The Jaguars hold a 10-5 advantage in the all-time series and have won six straight against the Colonials. The two teams last met on Oct. 11, 2025, when IU Indy earned a five-set victory at Robert Morris.
