INDIANAPOLIS – IU Indianapolis Women's Director of Cross Country and Track & Field
Antonio McDaniel announced the additions of 13 student-athletes for the upcoming season, including 12 true freshmen and an in-state transfer. McDaniel brought on six distance specialists who will compete in both cross country and track and seven others who will compete only in track and field.
Below is a rundown of the Jaguars' 13 newcomers with pertinent details about each.
Elora Bliss – Distance - Munster, Ind. / Munster

-Three-time IHSAA State qualifier in cross country
-Four-time All-Conference performer in cross country
-Earned a spot at the 2025 IHSAA State Championships in track
Brianna Fincannon – Sprints – Valparaiso, Ind. / Valparaiso
Top Times: 200m 25.43; 400m 57.07
-Four-year varsity letterwinner in both track and basketball
-Named Valparaiso's Track MVP in 2024 and 2026
-Named Valparaiso's Track Sprint MVP in 2025
-Earned All-Conference honors as a senior in 2026
Elle Gilbert – Jumps – Noblesville, Ind. / South Oldham (Ky.)

-Four-year varsity letterwinner in track and field
-Finished fourth at the KHSAA Class 3A State Championships in the long jump (17' 8'') in 2025 and also finished tenth in the 100m dash (12.56)

-Three-time Academic All-State honoree
-Won the 2025 USATF Region Championship in the long jump and later placed ninth at the USATF Junior Olympics
Aftin Griffin – Distance – Galveston, Ind. / Lewis Cass

-2025 All-State performer in cross country, finishing 49
th at the IHSAA State Championships
-Named 2A Runner of the Year in 2025
-Earned seven individual wins in cross country as a senior, including winning the Three Rivers Conference title and Logansport Sectional meet
-Holds Cass High School's record for the 5K with a personal best time of 18:15.8, along with school records in the 100, 200, 400, 800 and 4x400 relay
Jenna Hall – Multis – Eaton, Ohio / Northmont
Top Times: 300H 48.83; HJ 5'4''
-Won the high jump at the Greater Western Ohio Conference as a junior (5' 4'') in 2024 before earning runner-up honors as a senior
-Advanced to the 2025 OHSAA D1 State Championships as a junior
-Also competed in the 300m hurdles her senior season, registering a personal best time of 48.83
Ellia Hayes – Distance – Brazil, Ind. / Northview (Indiana-transfer)

-Spent the last two seasons at Indiana University
-2023 All-State performer in cross country at Northview High School, placing 16

-Competed in both sprints and jumps while at Carroll High School
-Was a regional qualifier in both the 200m and high jump as a sophomore in 2024
-Finished eighth overall in the high jump at the Hoosier State Relays as a senior, clearing 5'2''
-Clocked a personal best 100m time of 12.88 at the Citrus Classic Invitational her junior year
Cierra Smith – Hurdles – Brownsburg, Ind. / Brownsburg
Top Times: 60H 8.87; 100H 14.57; 300H 44.81
-Qualified for the IHSAA Girls State Championships in the 100m hurdles as a senior, ultimately placing ninth overall, earning All-State honors
-Was previously conference and sectional champion in the 100m hurdles and regional runner-up
-Owns Brownsburg's school record in the 100m hurdles with a personal best time of 14.57 seconds from the regional finals
-Was also sectional runner-up in the 300m hurdles with a personal best time of 44.81 seconds
Hannah Suvar – Distance – Leo, Ind. / Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian
