INDIANAPOLIS - IU Indianapolis head men's soccer coach
Sid van Druenen has resigned his position as head men's soccer coach, effective May 14. Van Druenen spent the past four seasons as head coach of the Jaguars, amassing a 25-31-7 record, highlighted by a Horizon League runner-up finish in 2022.
"I am grateful for the opportunity and proud of my time leading IU Indy Men's Soccer for the past four seasons," van Druenen said. "I will cherish all the memories and the relationships built with players, staff, admins and alumni. It is time to put family first and focus on what is best for all of us and that led to the decision of resigning from my position."
"We'd like to thank Sid for his efforts in leading our men's soccer program," IU Indy Director of Athletics
Luke Bosso said. "He's run a first class program and continually recruited high character men throughout his time here. We wish he and his family nothing but the best."
During his time with the program, van Druenen coached eight players to All-Horizon League accolades, including 2023 Player of the Year Lukas Hackaa and 2022 Freshman of the Year Josemir Gomez. In addition, 11 Jaguars earned Horizon League All-Academic Team honors during van Druenen's tenure.
Last season, his squad earned a road result at Notre Dame with a 0-0 draw and won on the road at Butler for the program's first-ever road win over the Bulldogs. In 2024, the Jaguars earned a road result at No. 6 Saint Louis in a 1-1 draw and later followed with a road win at Akron, 2-1.
The department will immediately begin a national search for the program's next head coach.
