BATAVIA, Ohio - The IU Indianapolis women's golf team will participate in this week's NKU Julie Invitational at Elks Run Golf Course, playing 36 holes on Monday (Mar. 23) ahead of Tuesday's final round. The Jaguars will be among the 12-team field and compete against six other Horizon League foes. 

The Jags are coming off a ninth-place finish at the Jackrabbits Invitational in Nevada, having carded 927 (311-308-308) on Mar. 16-17. Freshman Li (Sherry) Xia led the way with a 7-over 223 and classmate Olivia Aronhalt was next in line at 230. For the season, Xia has a team-best 77.20 stroke average and a top-10 finish on her resume while sophomore Cassidy Ayres has a 78.83 scoring average this spring after missing the fall due to injury. 

Senior Yanah Rolston is third on the squad with a 79.45 scoring average in 20 rounds and has a team-high 84 career rounds to her credit. As a team, the Jaguars have a 317.70 scoring average in eight tournaments this season.

"This tournament was an incredible experience - full of challenges, growth and unforgettable moments. I'm proud of what we accomplished and excited for what's next!" Xia said following the Jackrabbits Invitational.  

THE COURSE
Elks Run is the best public facility in Cincinnati and is set to play par 71 and 5,861 yards this week. The Greg Norman designed course features bentgrass greens, tees and fairways along with rolling hills and creeks. 

THE FIELD
The 12-team field includes Ashland, Detroit Mercy, Green Bay, IU Indy, Northern Kentucky, Oakland, Purdue Fort Wayne, Saint Francis, Southern Indiana, UIC, Valparaiso and Wayne State.
