BOULDER CITY, Nev. - The IU Indianapolis women's golf team will return to action this week when the Jaguars compete at the Jackrabbits Invitational at Boulder Creek Golf Course. The two-day, 54-hole event will consist of two rounds on Monday (Mar. 16) and a final round on Tuesday (Mar. 17). 

The Jaguars received a shot in the arm at the most recent Huntsville.org Intercollegiate as both senior Reagan Sohn and sophomore Cassidy Ayres rejoined the lineup after missing much of the fall due to injuries. Both shot team-best 54-hole scores of 239 while freshman Li (Sherry) Xia continued to impress at 241. Senior Yanah Rolston and freshman Emma Frauhiger rounded out the lineup at 242 and 250, respectively. 

This week, freshman Olivia Aronhalt took the top qualifying spot and will be joined in the lineup by Sohn, Frauhiger, Xia and Ayres. For the season, Xia leads the team with a 77.71 scoring average, including a top-10 finish, while the team team checks in with a 319.00 stroke average.

"This week was a great learning opportunity for our team as we got to compete against strong southern programs. It's always nice to play outside again after hitting indoors all offseason. We now know what areas of our game need extra focus heading into the rest of the spring season," Sohn said 

THE COURSE
Boulder Creek sits within three mountain ranges and is nearby to Hoover Dam. The course features three lined fairways, large greens and water features on seven different holes. 

THE FIELD
The 10-team field includes Cal State Northridge, IU Indy, Morehead State, Northern Iowa, Omaha, Oral Roberts, Portland State, St. Thomas (Minn.), South Dakota State and UNLV.

The Jaguars placed seventh of 10 teams at the Huntsville.org Intercollegiate with a 54-hole 958 (324-312-322). Ayres and Sohn led the way at 239 each and Xia shot 241 for the week.

The Jaguars will compete in the NKU Julie Invitational on Mar. 23-24 in Batavia, Ohio, at Elks Run Golf Club.
