WOMEN’S BASKETBALL FALLS AT CLEVELAND STATE

Nevaeh Foster led with 11 points in the loss

CLEVELAND, Ohio – IU Indy fell on the road at Cleveland State on Wednesday night, 74-45. The Jaguars move to 11-15 overall and 7-10 in Horizon League play following the setback.

Cleveland State opened the contest on a 16-0 run and held IU Indy scoreless for over five minutes to seize control early. The Jaguars were limited to just 2-of-13 shooting in the opening frame as the Vikings built a 24-5 advantage after one. Sydney Bolden knocked down a three late in the quarter to get IU Indy on the board, but CSU capitalized on turnovers and second-chance opportunities to create separation.

IU Indy showed signs of life in the second, matching Cleveland State's defensive intensity and holding the Vikings to 10 points in the period. Nevaeh Foster connected from three in transition and Bolden converted a fastbreak layup to trim the deficit, but Cleveland State maintained a 34-15 lead at halftime.

The Jaguars delivered their most efficient stretch coming out of the locker room, shooting 40 percent in the third quarter. Destini Craig and Olivia Smith attacked the paint for early baskets, while Foster buried another three-pointer to keep IU Indy within striking distance. Despite the improved offensive rhythm, Cleveland State answered with timely perimeter shooting and carried a 53-29 advantage into the fourth.

IU Indy continued to compete down the stretch, posting its highest-scoring quarter with 16 points. Foster stayed aggressive offensively, and Kamara Mills added a three-pointer late. Camron Blank contributed inside in the closing minutes as the Jaguars battled to the final horn, but Cleveland State secured the 74-45 decision.

Foster led IU Indy with 11 points on 4-of-6 shooting, including three three-pointers. Bolden added seven points off the bench, while Olivia Smith chipped in seven points and two rebounds. Hailey Smith pulled down a team-high six rebounds to go with three points and two blocks. The Jaguars received 20 points from their bench and scored 22 points in the paint
