MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – The IU Indy Jaguars pushed Horizon League foe Robert Morris to overtime on the road but came up short in an 80–70 loss in Moon Township.
Olivia Smith led the Jags with 19 points while
Nevaeh Foster added 14 points and six rebounds.
IU Indy settled in early and kept pace with the Colonials, trading baskets throughout the opening period. Robert Morris held a narrow 19–16 advantage after one, but the Jaguars showed early energy on both ends.
The Jaguars responded in the second quarter with improved offensive rhythm, scoring 19 points to stay within striking distance at halftime. With the strong push, IU Indy went into the break with a one-point lead at 35-34.
Both teams tightened up defensively coming out of halftime. IU Indy battled through a physical third quarter but was outscored 16–12, allowing Robert Morris to take a three-point lead into the final period at 50-47.
IU Indy refused to go away, matching the Colonials with 19 points in the fourth quarter. The Jaguars' late surge forced overtime, knotting the game at 66–66 at the end of regulation.
Robert Morris controlled the extra period, outscoring IU Indy 14–4 to pull away for the victory. The Jaguars continued to fight, but the Colonials' execution in overtime proved to be the difference.
Olivia Smith led the Jags with 19 points on 7-for-18 shooting while Foster added 14 points (5-for-10) and a team-high six rebounds.
Destini Craig also added 11 points with three steals, two assists and two rebounds.
Hailey Smith also contributed with 10 points.
IU Indy falls to 6-11 and 2-6 in conference play. They will continue their road trip this weekend as they face Youngstown State on Saturday, January 17 at 2:00 PM.
