INDIANAPOLIS – The IU Indy volleyball team host the annual Hampton Inn Invitational this weekend from Thursday, Sept. 11 to Saturday, Sept. 13. The Jags will welcome Bellarmine, Gonzaga and Northern Illinois to the Jungle.
 
IU Indy will kick off the invite on Thursday as they face Bellarmine at 7:00 PM. The Knights are 2-4 on the season with wins over Indiana State and SIUE. They are coming off an 0-3 weekend at James Madison's LD&B Insurance Invite. Senior Kylie Van Hoy was named to the All-Tournament Team after registering 92 assists, 18 kills, 16 digs, five blocks and a service ace.
 
After Thursday's contest, IU Indy will host two neutral site games with Northern Illinois and Gonzaga starting Friday off at 11:00 AM followed by Bellarmine and Northern Illinois at 5:00 PM. The Jags will close out Friday night at 7:00 PM against Gonzaga. Gonzaga enters the weekend with a 4-2 mark with wins over UTRGV, LIU Brooklyn, CSU Bakersfield and Maryland Eastern Shore. The Bulldogs are led by Sjakkie Donkers with 67 kills (4.47 per set) and Maggie Rickert with 65 digs this season (3.42 per set).
 
The invitational will wrap up on Saturday with Gonzaga taking on Bellarmine at 12:00 PM followed by the Jags playing Northern Illinois at 2:00 PM. The Huskies enter the weekend with a 5-1 record with wins over Lamar, Southern Miss, Merrimack, Indiana State and SIUE. They are led by Ava Grevengoed who is averaging 3.56 kills per set while Jordyn Tynsky leads the defense with 109 digs.
