INDIANAPOLIS - The IU Indianapolis women's soccer team will host the Ball State Cardinals on Sunday (Aug. 31) to play their fifth regular-season game at Carroll Stadium. Kickoff is at 1:00 p.m.
The Jaguars are coming off a huge 3-0 shutout victory against Indiana State. Redshirt freshman Olivia Hopper, graduate student Emma Antoine, and fellow graduate student Hannah Roberson all found the back of the net. The Jaguars were able to create those opportunities by outshooting Indiana State 18-7 and 9-5 in corner kicks. Junior Caroline Kelley attempted a game high of four shots, and senior Arissa North, coming in halfway through the game, had four saves for the Jaguars.
Redshirt Sophomore Lilly Ma and Kelley were also able to find their teammates, registering one assist each. Ma's assist came in the 63rd minute, scored by Roberson, and Kelley's came in the 87th minute, scored by Antoine.
Through four matches, Hopper and Roberson now lead the team with three points apiece while senior Emma Frey tops the team, having played all 360 minutes this season.
QUOTABLE
"We talked about not just creating more scoring opportunities, but finishing our opportunities. That's what Olivia, Hannah, and Emma did - finish! Our goalkeepers made some great saves. After Sarah went down, Arissa stepped up big for us. We're learning how to win. We've lost a game late and lost a game after we had the lead. Tonight was a great team win." White said
