INDIANAPOLIS -The IU Indianapolis women's soccer team will travel to Terre Haute to play its fourth regular-season game against the Sycamores on Wednesday (Aug. 27) at 7:00 PM.
The Jaguars come off a tough loss this past weekend against Southern Illinois, 3-1. The Jaguars got hot quickly with sophomore Keliah Muldrow scoring the opening goal in the 36th minute of the game, assisted by senior Hannah Roberson, the first of the season. The Jaguars kept the opportunities alive with 13 shots against Southern Illinois, 11. Senior Emma Frey had a game high of three shots, and graduate student Sarah Bambrick had two saves.
Both Lauren Cuson and Muldrow made their season debuts this past weekend. Muldrow scored her second goal of her career in 24 minutes. Redshirt freshman Olivia Hopper and junior Avery Bangert both came off the bench they both also had one shot each.Â
QUOTABLE
"(SIU) just stepped up their game a little bit. They knew that they needed to win those second-chance balls. They're a little bit more physical on us. I think that hindered us a little bit. For us, we just need to stop making our mental mistakes that we've been talking about, and rely on what we know, that's team first mentality," head coach Angela Berry White said.
SCOUTING INDIANA STATE
Indiana State is 1-2-1 on the season, with one shutout victory over Saint-Mary-of-the-Woods. Alex Lehnert leads the Sycamores with four goals on eight shots, while Isabella Berta and Brooklyn Woods have each scored two goals and one assist.Â
