INDIANAPOLIS – Sebastian Otero was named the 2025 Horizon League Swim and Dive Athlete of the Year for the second year in a row as announced by the league office today. Otero defends his Athlete of the Year title after he made an NCAA Championship appearance for the second straight year.
 
The junior from Fishers, Indiana adds yet another title to his dominate career with the #HLSD Athlete of the Year award. He was also named Diver of the Meet after setting new Horizon League Championship records in the 1-meter (414.15) and 3-meter (445.75) events. He swept the events to continue his undefeated career at the conference level.
 
Otero was the only Horizon League athlete to compete at the Men's NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships. He was also named a league-high Horizon League Diver of the Week six times this season.
 
Otero has now won the top honor two years in a row, adding his name to the list of all-time IU Indy honorees once again, joining Emmaleigh Zietlow (2024 #HLSD Athlete of the Year) and Logan Kelly (2023 #HLSD Athlete of the Year).
