INDIANAPOLIS – The IU Indy women's tennis team returned to action on Saturday, hosting Youngstown State at West Indy. The Jaguars fell 7-0 to the Penguins.
In doubles, the duo of
Grace Lampman and
Chloe Bailey held a 5-3 lead at No. 2 doubles before their match went unfinished. The Jaguars dropped the other two doubles contests, giving Youngstown State the early point.
In singles play,
Elle Kotre pushed her match to three sets at the No. 3 spot, taking the second set 6-1 before ultimately falling 6-3 in the third set. Junior
Emma Dell also put together a competitive performance at No. 2 singles, forcing a second-set tiebreak against Lili Minich, but came up short 6-4, 7-6.
With the loss, IU Indy drops to 2-9 on the season. The Jaguars will look to bounce back tomorrow when they host Cleveland State at 11:00 AM.
