CHARLESTON, S.C. – The IU Indy men's tennis team fell to the College of Charleston, 6-1, on Saturday afternoon in Charleston.
Steven Paz provided the lone point for the Jags in the No. 2 singles match.
Doubles action saw Charleston take the first two matches, clinching the doubles point. The team of Mattia Bernardi and Eddie Vo defeated
Konner Gunwall and
Nate Day in the No. 1 spot 6-1, while Matias Gaedechens and J. Diego Rojas Mora edged out
Noah Viste and
Kamil Kozerski 6-4 at No. 2 doubles. The No. 3 doubles match featuring
Will Thurin and
Steven Paz was left unfinished with the Jags trailing 4-5.
In singles play, IU Indy's lone victory came from Paz at the No. 2 spot, where he rallied back after dropping the first set to defeat Jake Sweeney in a thrilling 4-6, 6-2, 10-7 match.
Kamil Kozerski (No. 1) and
Noah Viste (No. 3) fell in straight sets, while
Eli Mercer,
Nate Day, and
Will Thurin also came up short in their singles contests.
IU Indy will next face The Citadel on Monday, March 10 at 9:30 AM.
