ST. PETERS, Mo. – The IU Indy women's tennis team fell in a close match on Saturday night at Lindenwood, 4-3.
Chloe Bailey,
Calli Sokolowski and
Grace Lampman all earned singles wins in the loss.
Lindenwood opened the match with a quick doubles point, 1-0. The Jags fell in the No. 2 and 3 spots to drop the doubles point.
Elle Kotre and Sokolowski earned the No. 1 doubles win, 6-2.
IU Indy took three of the six singles points but it wasn't enough as Lindenwood sealed the 4-3 win after earning the doubles point before singles play.
Bailey earned the No. 2 singles point in two sets, 6-3, 6-1. Sokolowski took the No. 4 singles point, 6-4, 6-3 and Lampman earned the No. 5 singles point in two hard fought sets, 7-6, 7-6.
Emma Dell dropped the No. 1 match while Kotre fell in the No. 3 spot.
Hanan Awale rounded out the lineup in the No. 6 spot where she fell, 6-3, 6-1.
The Jags are now 0-4 to start the season and will now return to Indy to welcome Huntington on Saturday, Feb. 15 at 2:00 PM.
