MEN’S TENNIS EARNS CLOSE WIN OVER LIPSCOMB, 4-3

Mercer, Thurin and Nauta collected singles points in the win

INDIANAPOLIS – The IU Indy men's tennis team defeated Lipscomb in a close battle, 4-3. Several Jaguars stepped up, including freshman Vincent Nauta collecting his first singles point of the 2025 season.

IU Indy opened the match with the doubles point, taking the early 1-0 lead. Kamil Kozerski and Noah Viste collected the No. 2 doubles win, 6-3 while Steven Paz and Will Thurin helped seal the point in the No. 3 spot, 6-3. Nate Day and Konner Gunwall were winning in the No. 1 spot, 5-4 before the match went unfinished.

After earning the doubles point, the Jags played a tight match in singles play. They earned three of the six points to secure the match victory. Freshman Nauta earned his first singles win of the spring season in the No. 6 spot, 6-2, 7-6.

Kozerski battled in the No. 1 singles match, ultimately falling in three sets, 7-5, 4-6, 7-6. Paz fell in the No. 2 spot, 6-3, 7-5 and Pumiphat Sukkho rounded out the lineup in the No. 4 spot, falling, 6-2, 6-3.
