INDIANAPOLIS – The IU Indy women's tennis team fell to undefeated Colorado on Saturday at West Indy Racquet Club, 7-0. The Jags are now 0-3 to start the season.
In doubles play, the Jags fell in the No. 1 and No. 2 spots, dropping the doubles point.
Elle Kotre and
Calli Sokolowski fell in the No. 1 spot, 6-3 while
Chloe Bailey and
Grace Lampman dropped the No. 2 match, 6-1.
After falling behind 1-0 in doubles play, the Jags moved onto singles play. Unfortunately, they could not recover as Colorado swept the singles points.
Bailey dropped the No. 1 singles match, 6-2, 6-2 while
Emma Dell fell in the No. 2 spot, 6-0, 7-6. Kotre lost at No. 3 singles, 6-2, 6-1 and Sokolowski fell in the No. 4 spot, 6-0. 6-1. Lampman lost the No. 5 singles point, 6-0, 6-2 while
Hanan Awale rounded out the lineup in the No. 6 spot, falling, 6-1, 7-5.
The IU Indy women's tennis team is now 0-3 to open the season. They will next travel to Lindenwood on Saturday, Feb. 8.
