INDIANAPOLIS - The IU Indianapolis women's track and field team registered ten new personal bests as an abbreviated group of Jaguars competed at the 2nd annual Scott Fangman Invitational at the University of Indianapolis on Saturday (Dec. 6). Sophomore Jahzara McAlister led the way with a pair of personal records, including a runner-up finish in the 200m dash. She also earned a third-place finish in the 60m dash after earlier notching a personal best time in the prelims.

"It felt really good to be back on the track," McAlister said. "The work I put in over the summer and this fall really translated on the track today, leading to a PB in both my events."

While no Jaguars set new personal bests in the 60m hurdles, three advanced to the finals, led by junior Journey Howard. Howard ran 9.28 in the prelims and was joined in the finals by Pa'Shence Purnell (9.34) and Skyler Sichting (9.67). Howard finished fourth in the finals at 9.22 seconds and Purnell ran 9.44 in the finals.

McAlister, the team's lone entrant in the 60m dash, clocked a personal best time of 7.83 seconds in the prelims and followed with a time of 7.81 seconds in the finals.

Skylar Ferry made her collegiate debut with a time of 1:02.65 in the 400m event for a new personal best while the Jags also fared well in the 200m dash.
