CLEVELAND, Ohio – IU Indy volleyball rolled to its tenth sweep of the season Saturday afternoon, defeating Cleveland State 3–0 (25–7, 25–18, 25–19) at Woodling Gym. The Jaguars (16–10, 10–4 Horizon) hit .267 as a team and tallied 10 service aces in a commanding performance.
The Jaguars opened on fire, racing to a 13–1 lead behind dominant serving from
Jordyn Pax and efficient offense from
Jillian Tippmann and
Ninah Miranda. IU Indy hit .500 in the frame while holding the Vikings to just five kills and a -.167 attack percentage. Miranda finished the set with four kills as the Jags cruised to a 25–7 win.
Cleveland State kept things closer in the second, but IU Indy's balanced attack was too much to handle. Miranda led the charge with several kills from setter
Grace Purichia, while
Laura Roeder added key service aces to keep the pressure on. Tippmann closed out the second set with three consecutive kills to help lead the Jags to a 2-0 lead.
The Vikings jumped ahead early in the third set, but IU Indy quickly regained control after a series of strong serves from Miranda and Purichia. The Jags closed the match with back-to-back kills from Tippmann and
Amanda Stephens, securing the sweep. Miranda led all players with 13 kills, while Tippmann hit .550 with 11 kills and no errors. Roeder anchored the defense with 25 digs, and Purichia distributed 34 assists.
IU Indy outperformed Cleveland State in every major category—posting 38 kills to the Vikings' 27 and 10 service aces to just two. The Jaguars are now on a five game win streak, each winning coming in sweep fashion. IU Indy will next travel to Green Bay next weekend for back-to-back matches.
