10/28/2025 11:49:00 AM

INDIANAPOLIS – The IU Indy women's soccer team (3-11-3, 2-5-2 HL) will conclude its regular season on Wednesday, Oct. 25, at 7:00 PM inside Michael A. Carroll Stadium facing off against the Mastodons of Purdue Fort Wayne. Tickets will be available at the door or online, and the match will be live-streamed on ESPN+. The Jaguars will wear pink jerseys and pink socks as part of the program's 'Breast Cancer Awareness' initiative.

This past weekend, the Jags clawed their way back to secure a 2-2 draw at Oakland. Oakland opened the scoring in the ninth minute of the match but just before halftime, freshman Maci Sammons delivered a pass to fellow freshman Shannon Phillips, who netted her first goal of the year in the 43rd minute.

After the break, the Golden Grizzlies reclaimed the lead with a goal in the 50th minute. As the match neared its end, senior Emma Frey served up freshman Anika Guenther for her second goal of the season in the 82nd minute. Both teams finished with 12 shots, but the Jags held the advantage in shots on goal with nine. Graduate student Sarah Bambrick started in net for the Jaguars, recording five saves.

Through 17 games, sophomore Keilah Muldrow leads the Jags in points (8) and goals (3) while also tallying two assists. Right behind Muldrow is Guenther, with five points on two goals and one assist. Junior Caroline Kelley has registered four points and leads the Jags in assists (4). She also leads the team in total shots (47) and shots on goal (20), ranking second in shots and eighth in shots on goal across the Horizon League.

QUOTABLE
"Today was a hard-fought battle, and I knew that I had to play my all-out for this team and especially the seniors. This team deserved this game; it came down to the very end. Everyone played with heart, and we had a talk before the game about playing for each other and not giving up, and that's exactly what we did. Although we didn't come out with a win, we definitely came out and fought for that game and for each other. I knew that I needed to convert and do all that I could for these girls," Guenther said.
