VOLLEYBALL COMPLETES WEEKEND SWEEP OVER OAKLAND

Purichia collected her 3,000th career assist in the win

INDIANAPOLIS – The IU Indy volleyball team continued its winning ways Saturday afternoon, sweeping Oakland 3–0 (25–14, 25–19, 25–23) inside the Jungle. The victory marked the Jaguars' seventh sweep of the season, their most in 25 years. The match also marked a career milestone for setter Grace Purichia, who recorded her 3,000th career assist, moving her to fifth all-time in program history.

IU Indy came out strong behind an efficient offense, hitting .319 as a team. Morgan Ostrowski led the charge with five kills in the frame, while Ninah Miranda added two aces to help the Jaguars build momentum. A balanced attack and stingy defense powered the Jags to a dominant opening-set win.

Purichia's play making set the tone in the second, dishing out 14 assists as IU Indy hit .412,  its best efficiency of the day. Jillian Tippmann and Amanda Stephens each came up clutch with timely kills, while Elle Patterson and Miranda added consistent scoring to keep Oakland on its heels.

Oakland challenged late, tying the set eight times, but IU Indy's dominance prevailed. Patterson helped sealed the sweep with a final kill, finishing with 10 on the day. Ostrowski added another stellar performance with 14 kills on .591 hitting, and Laura Roeder anchored the defense with 19 digs.

Purichia finished the match with 38 assists, 17 digs, four kills, and an ace, while Miranda tallied eight kills and nine digs. The Jaguars improved to 13–10 overall and 7–4 in Horizon League play, continuing their mid season surge.
