WOMEN'S TRACK AND FIELD TEAM TO COMPETE AT CROSSROADS OF AMERICA INVITE

Jaguars to participate inside Indiana Farm Bureau Fall Creek Pavilion this weekend

INDIANAPOLIS - The IU Indianapolis women's track and field team will return to action this weekend when the Jaguars participate in the Crossroads of America Invitational inside Indiana Farm Bureau Fall Creek Pavilion at the Indiana State Fairgrounds. It marks the Jaguars' second straight weekend competing inside Fall Creek Pavilion after a solid showing last week. 

Fans can purchase tickets and parking for $10 each by clicking here. On Friday evening, field events will begin at 5:00 p.m. while track events will start at 6:00 p.m. with the 60m hurdles. Saturday's events will begin with the shot put and finals of the 60m hurdles at 11:00 a.m. 

Junior Modupe Awosanya headlines the team's entries, having been named #HLTF Women's Field Athlete of the Week after jumping a league best 6.12m (20' 1'') in the long jump. She and Paige Laffoon will compete in the long jump, having jumped 5.82m (19' 1.25'') earlier this season. Laffoon leads the team's entries in the 60m hurdles, having run 9.18 as part of her multis performance last week. 

Newcomer Sa'Mone Winters will be among the team's three entries in the 60m dash on Friday while Wini Barnett will run the 600m event. Ellie Cates and Brooke Neal key the team's participants in the 3K on Friday as Cates is the current program record holder at 9:43.28. Neal made her IU Indy debut last weekend, running 10:15.06 in the 3,000m event. Freshman Jahzara McAlister is the team's top performer in the 200m event this season, having run 25.82 while Awosanya holds the school record at 24.73. 

On Saturday, Grace Bragg and Ella Colclesser will participate in the mile with Bragg having opened the season with a 5:23.53 effort. The Jaguars will compete in the 400m event for the first time this season as Jada-Marie Davis has run 1:01.21. Davis will be the team's lone entrant in the high jump on Friday as well as the program's record holder at 1.66m (5' 5.25''). 

Hannah Robbins is coming off a standout 3,000m effort last weekend and will be joined by Laci Provenzano in the 5,000m event on Saturday. 

The Jaguars will also participate in the 4x400 relay, entering two relay squads into the final event of the meet.
