INDIANAPOLIS - The IU Indianapolis Department of Athletics and the women's cross country and track program announced the additions of eight student-athletes for the upcoming 2024-2025 campaign. Head coach
Antonio McDaniel added a transfer and seven true freshmen to round out his recruiting class for the upcoming season.

All eight come from inside the Hoosier State with five expected to compete in both cross country and track and three others to focus specifically on track and field.

Below are the eight newcomers, listed alphabetically.

Carina Alanis (Frankfort, Ind. / Frankfort / Purdue Northwest-transfer)
-Ran the past two seasons at Purdue Northwest, competing in both cross country and track
-Owns personal best times of 20:00.6 in the 5K and 23:36.4 in the 6K in cross country
-Has personal best times of 5:19.82 in the 1,500m and 5:37.64 in the mile in track
-Three-time New Prairie Semi-State qualifier in cross country while at Frankfort High School

Ella Colclesser (Roanoke, Ind. / Huntington North)
-Qualified for the 2023 IHSAA State Cross Country Championships as a senior at Huntington North
-Also qualified for the IHSAA Girls State Track Championships all four years of her career, doing so in the 4x400 and 4x800 relays
-Owns personal best times of 2:19.14 in the 800m, 5:23.18 in the 1,600m and 11:30.16 in the 3,200m
-Ran a personal best 5K time of 19:09.4 in cross country at the New Haven Regional her senior season

Julianna Crow (Kendallville, Ind. / East Noble)
-Qualified for the 2023 IHSAA State Cross Country Championships her senior year at East Noble, running a personal best 5K time of 19:32.0 in her final high school meet
-Sectional champion in the 200m, 400m, 4x400 relay and long jump her senior year
-Closed her high school career with personal best times of 26.99 in the 200m and 59.94 in the 400m

Mary Fritch (Martinsville, Ind. / Homeschool)
-Ran with Indy Genesis running club, earning cross country champion of the Indiana Christian & Home School Championships and Midwest Home/Small School XC Championships her senior year
-Clocked a personal best 5K time of 20:13.0 at the 2023 HXN Championships
-Earned nine individual race wins on the track her senior year, including winning the 1,600m and 3,200m events at the Midwest Track and Field Championships
-Closed her high school career with personal best times of 2:37.08 in the 800m and 12:38.27 in the 3,200m event

Jahzara McAlister (Evansville, Ind. / Evansville Central)
-Two-time First Team All-Conference performer in track in 2021 and 2022
-Qualified for the IHSAA State Championships her senior year in the 100m dash
-Also ran at the state championships as a freshman in the 4x100 relay, running the lead leg
-Closed her high school career with personal best times of 8.14 seconds in the 60m dash, 12.55 in the 100m and 25.67 in the 200m
-Also starred in soccer, earning First Team All-City, All-Conference and All-Region honors, scoring more than 40 goals in her high school career

Aubrey Nowaskie (Monroe City, Ind. / South Knox)
-Qualified for the IHSAA State Cross Country Championships as a junior and senior, finishing 61
st overall her senior season with a personal best time of 19:00.2
-Also qualified for the IHSAA Girls State Track & Field Championships as a junior and senior in the 800m event
-Earned six individual wins on the track her senior year, including winning Blue Chip Conference titles in the 800, 1,600 and 3,200m events and a win in the 4x800 relay
-Owns personal best times of 2:18.04 in the 800m, 5:28.09 in the 1,600m and 5:28.09 in the 3,200m event

Pa'Shence Purnell (Indianapolis, Ind. / Herron)
-Earned a podium finish at the IHSAA Girls State Track & Field Championships in the 100m hurdles, placing seventh in the state with a time of 15.09
-Was Indianapolis Girls City Champion in the 300m hurdles (44.91) as a senior and runner-up in the 100m hurdles (14.92)
-Won the 60m hurdles (9.12) at the 2024 Hoosier State Relays – Small School Division her senior year
-Owns personal best times of 9.12 in the 60m hurdles, 14.81 in the 100m hurdles and 44.31 in the 300m hurdles

Jade Wiese (Lafayette, Ind. / Jefferson)
-Qualified for the IHSAA Girls State Track & Field Championships in long jump as a junior, placing 15
th overall (17' 5.75'')
-Earned eight individual wins in the long jump her junior year, including North Central Conference champ, Harrison Sectional Champ and Jefferson Regional runner-up
-Also competed with Lafayette Jeff's 4x100 relay team, helping the group to four wins her junior year, including North Central Conference champ and Harrison Sectional title
-Suffered an injury during the fall of her senior year, costing her much of her final track season
-Owns a personal best long jump mark of 18' 5''
