INDIANAPOLIS – The IU Indy volleyball team fell in four sets to the Green Bay Phoenix on Friday evening in the Jungle. Sophomore Maia Long led the Jaguars' attack with 14 kills.
 
In the opening set, the Jaguars took the early lead at 10-4 before the Phoenix went on a 5-1 run to pull the gap to two at 11-9. Although the Jags held on to the lead for the majority of the first set, Green Bay ended up taking a late 24-22 lead, forcing an IU Indy timeout. After the timeout, Morgan Ostrowski slammed down a kill to bring the score within one before the Phoenix closed out the set at 25-23.
 
IU Indy fought back in set two, earning a 26-24 set victory. The Jags hit their best hitting percentage of the match with a .308 mark and 19 kills to tie the match at 1-1.
 
Set three was filled with service errors with both teams committed at least five errors at the service line. The Phoenix took the slight edge, earning a 25-22 set three victory, taking the match lead at 2-1. The Jags offense slowed in the fourth and final set as IU Indy hit just .143, falling 25-18.
 
Long totaled 14 kills while Ostrowski added 13 and Elle Patterson collected 12. Briana Brown added 10 kills which also brought her collegiate career total to over 1,000 kills. Grace Purichia added to the offense with 43 assists while also collecting 12 digs. Patterson collected a team-high 15 digs while Evans added 14 digs and three service aces.
 
The Jags and Phoenix will battle it out once more tomorrow afternoon for the Jaguars' Senior Day. IU Indy and Green Bay are set for a 2:00 PM first serve.
