JAGS FOILED BY THREE-POINT LINE IN ROAD LOSS AT BRADLEY

Jags connect on just one trey in road defeat on Thursday (Nov. 21)

PEORIA, Ill. - The IU Indianapolis women's basketball team dropped a road decision to a hot shooting Bradley squad on Thursday (Nov. 21), 72-47. Bradley hit 11-of-26 (42.3 percent) from three-point range and held the Jaguars to just one made three in the win.

Sophomore Alexa Hocevar was the lone Jaguar to finish in double-digits, tallying 10 points off the bench and Jada Patton had eight points and seven rebounds. Shania Nichols-Vannett also closed with eight points.

Soleil Barnes paced Bradley (3-1) with 20 points, fueled largely by 6-of-9 from three-point range. The game was played in front of the second-largest home crowd in Bradley women's basketball history as more than 3,700 were announced for the Braves annual field trip game.

Bradley jumped out quickly to energize a rowdy field trip crowd as Barnes hit back-to-back threes on the Braves' first two possessions. The Jags didn't get on the board for nearly four minutes when Patton scored from in close.

Barnes finished the first quarter with two more treys as the Braves built a 16-6 lead by quarter's end. The Braves stayed hot in the second quarter, making 9-of-17 (52.9 percent) attempts to extend their lead to 35-18 by the break.

The Jags were held to 26 percent from the floor in the first half, including 0-of-7 from deep.

IU Indy (1-4) never seriously threatened in the second half, shooting 5-of-13 from the floor in both the third and fourth quarters.

The Jaguars will return to action on Sunday, Nov. 24 when they head north to face Marquette at 12:00 p.m. CT (1 Eastern).
