WOMEN'S SOCCER TO OPEN #HLWSOC TOURNAMENT AT NO. 4 RMU

Jaguars to face the Colonials at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday (Nov. 3)

11/2/2024 11:24:00 AM

CORAOPOLIS, Pa. - The IU Indianapolis women's soccer team will open the postseason on Sunday (Nov. 3) as the No. 5 Jaguars will take on No. 4 Robert Morris in the quarterfinals round of the 2024 Horizon League Tournament. The winner will advance to the semifinals at No. 1 Milwaukee while the loser will see its season come to an end.

Head coach Chris Johnson's team enters the postseason at 5-10-3 overall and was 4-4-2 in Horizon League play. The Jaguars were just 1-7-2 away from home this season, but earned a draw at Robert Morris back in late September. Sophomore Caroline Kelley scored an early goal off service from Avery Bangert, but the Jaguars later conceded an equalizer in the 66th minute. The Jags outshot the Colonials in that contest 16-14 and Ashton Kudlo made seven stops in net.

The Jaguars boast four all-league honorees heading into the postseason, keyed by junior midfielder Emma Frey, who was voted to the first team. Frey had a team-high 13 points (4 goals, 5 assists) during the regular season and played all but 25 of the team's minutes. Both Kelley and Kudlo were named second team All-Horizon League and freshman Keilah Muldrow was voted to the league's All-Freshman Team.

The Jaguars are 2-0-2 all-time against RMU and 1-0-2 in the three matchups in Pennsylvania.

Sunday's game will be played at AHN Montour Junction Sports Complex, just off the RMU campus, as opposed to their on-campus facility.
