INDIANAPOLIS - The IU Indianapolis Athletics Department recently concluded a record breaking Jags Giving Week, raising more than $287K to benefit the 270 student-athletes across all 18 sports. The funds raised easily exceeded the original $225K goal and more than 940 gifts were made during this year's Giving Week.
The week was highlighted by the department's largest-ever fund raising event as 'A Night Off the Record' at The Vault at Barnes and Thornburg on Wednesday, Sept. 25, raised more than $64K.
"We're thrilled with the overwhelming outpouring of support of our student-athletes from the Jaguar community," Director of Athletics Luke Bosso said. "It's an exciting time to be associated with IU Indianapolis and Jaguars Athletics and I think Jags Giving Week further emphasized that. We're grateful for the continued support and we'll continue to find opportunities to return the favor and support the Indianapolis-community and be a program this city can rally around.
"Thank you once again to everyone who contributed to this year's Jags Giving Week."
As part of the final tally, the department unlocked a generous $75K match from the IU Foundation as part of Jags Giving Week.
