YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The IU Indy volleyball team travels to Youngstown State for the weekend series. The Jags will face the Penguins on Friday, October 18 at 5:00 PM followed by the rematch on Saturday, October 19 at 1:00 PM.
 
The Jags enter the weekend after earning their first two Horizon League wins this past weekend with a sweep of Robert Morris. IU Indy defeated the Colonials 3-2 on Friday and 3-0 on Saturday, holding Robert Morris to under 16 points in each set on Saturday. Grace Purichia totaled 58 assists, the most in the Horizon League this season, in the Jags five-set victory. She averaged 11.75 assists per set for the weekend.
 
Purichia also leads the league in service aces with 0.52 per set for the season. The sophomore setter ranks third in the conference in assists with 8.88 per set. Junior Morgan Ostrowski holds a league best hitting percentage, hitting .375 with 164 kills. As a team, the Jags rank second in the league with 1.91 aces per set.
 
The Penguins enter the weekend with a 6-13 overall record and 0-7 mark in Horizon League play. Abbie Householder leads Youngstown State and ranks second in the league with 3.99 kills per set.
 
The Jags and Penguins split the overall series last season with both the Jags and Penguins earning a 3-2 decision on their home courts.
 
IU Indy and Youngstown State are set for a 5:00 PM first serve on ESPN+ on Friday night. They finish out the weekend series on Saturday, starting at 1:00 PM.
