INDIANAPOLIS – IU Indy senior Emmaleigh Zietlow earns her first #HLSD Swimmer of the Week award of the season while Sebastian Otero earns his second Diver of the Week award in back-to-back weeks as announced by the league office Wednesday, October 16.
 
The reigning Horizon League Swim and Dive Female Athlete of the Year earned the weekly award after earning two individual first-place finishes while Otero earned the award for recording two top five finishes at the Dan Ross Indiana Intercollegiate hosted by Purdue.
 
The senior from Hartland, Wisconsin lead the IU Indy women's swim team at the Dan Ross Indiana Intercollegiate with two first-place finishes to earn this week's #HLSD Swimmer of the Week. Zietlow earned first in the 200 free with a top time of 1:47.99. She doubled down and went two-for-two on the day with her second win coming in the 500 free, clocking a fast time of 4:51.16.
 
Zietlow was named #HLSD Athlete of the Year following the 2023-24 season and has previously earned Horizon League Swimmer of the Week a total of nine times in her collegiate career.
 
Otero was named #HLSD Diver of the Week for the second time this season after earning two top five scores at the Dan Ross Indiana Intercollegiate at Purdue. The junior from Fishers, Indiana placed third in the 3-meter dive with an overall score of 405.90. He followed that up with a fourth-place finish in the 1-meter dive with a score of 344.95.
 
This week's awards mark the first award for Zietlow this 2024-25 season and second for Otero.
 
Zietlow, Otero and the rest of the IU Indy swim and dive program will next travel to Wisconsin for back-to-back days. The Jags compete against the Green Bay Phoenix on Friday, October 25 at 5:00 PM ET then face the Milwaukee Panthers on Saturday, October 26 at 12:00 PM ET.
