Tahlia Walton tallied a season-high 22 points in the Jaguars' loss to Green Bay on Wednesday night, 87-59.
Abby Wolterman added 10 points to notch her fourth straight double-digit game. The Phoenix took control of the board bringing down 40 rebounds compared to the Jaguars' 27.
Green Bay (16-4, 9-1) was paced by Jasmine Kondrakiewicz who recorded a double-double with 21 points and 12 rebounds. Maddy Schreiber also added a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds while Cassie Schiltz totaled 15 points. Former Jaguar
Natalie Andersen was the fourth Phoenix player to tally double-digits with 14.
Despite IUPUI (4-14, 2-7) scoring the first five points, the Phoenix set the tone early outscoring the Jags 32-10 in the first quarter. IUPUI and Green Bay got up nearly the same number of shots but the Phoenix's accuracy was on target, shooting 13-of-17 from the field. The Jags shot just 25 percent (4-of-16).
IUPUI stayed in the game, winning the second quarter with 23 points.
The Jags came out hot to start the third quarter with
Tahlia Walton sinking a three. Both teams went on a scoring drought until the 6:30 minute mark when
Abby Wolterman drew the foul and sunk both free throws. IUPUI cut the lead to 14 with a layup by Walton but the Phoenix finished the third quarter on a 7-2 run to reclaim momentum.
Green Bay outscored the Jags 23-14 in the fourth quarter to seal the victory at 87-59.
Graduate Walton closed with 22 points, one point off her career-high with two rebounds and two assists. Wolterman totaled 10 points, four rebounds and two assists while
Katie Davidson added eight points.
Faith Stinson led the Jags in rebounds with five.
IUPUI finished at 41.5 percent overall and 30.4 percent (7-of-23) from three.
The Jaguars will next host Oakland on Sunday, January 28. The Golden Grizzlies will be in the Jungle for a 4:00 PM tip.
